first of all i want to say thanks for the love!
you guys are the best, so keep it up.
i still know there are some secret readers who i don't even know, and now would be a lovely time to introduce yourselves. we can be blogging buddies!

anywho...
if you follow me on twitter you will know that i purchased two items of furniture yesterday.
here is item number one:

i bought this cute bench at a local thrift store.
it was $25, which is not an outstanding deal, but with a can of miss tinted paint for $1, that only made this baby $26!




i decided to paint it this mustardy yellow
(thank goodness they had this color at the store),
to match the yellow thats in my bedspread.
i want place this beaut at the foot of the bed,
maybe find some better books to keep on it.
but i love it! what do you think?

my dad absolutely hates raking the leaves.
especially since we have a forest in our backyard.
so i thought i would take this boring job, and make it FUN.
this time i used an actual video camera, and my computer to film through the window.
notice the chair reflection. that was my lil bro. thanks austy ;)

the green basket

the title of my blog is in fact THE GREEN BASKET,

and as you can see my bike does not have a such a thing.
today, i purchased one.
the whole reason i named my blog the bike with the green basket is because i saw this...

and knew it had to be mine.
i first saw this basket in a magazine,
but it was just a photo, not an ad.
after lots and lots of searching online i found one for an awesome deal.
{with shipping most sites are charging $100 for this beaut}
so soon this will be displayed proudly on my bike.
i cannot wait!

a lovely fall bike ride

lately, because of the ugly snow and rain, i felt like i haven't been giving my bike much attention. so today i took her on a fun little ride. mainly to pass the time before the mail comes, i'm awaiting a rather large check :)

i live smack dab in the middle of a hill and so i could either go down the hill, but then i would have to eventually climb that monsterous beast. or i could go up the hill and then cruise down after.
i chose the second option. but instead of riding straight up wasatch i took the neighborhood route. the hills aren't as steep. but don't get me wrong, climbing hills on a bike that has only one gear... not so easy. but i did it! all the way up! i chose such a warm day to go, so cruising down the hill was a joy.


this time of year is perfect for a bike ride though. and i live in such a beautiful area, it was fun riding toward the huge gorgeous mountains. and riding down tree lined streets that have gathered the fallen leaves. i love riding over the leaves and hearing them crunch!
and i love fall! the weather lately has been perfect. i don't want it to end.
